Combining Your Smartphone with Trading

 Trading is a job and there is a lot of work involved. As a discretionary day trader you are stuck in front of your computer for hours waiting for the perfect entries. Constantly reading price action and whatever other indicators are on your chart. However, as an automated day trader the work is being done for you by your computer and you don't even need to be there to be profitable. Sounds like an easy decision which way you would choose to go, but then again you don't see all the work, research and testing that was put into an automated trading system unless it is your own. Our systems took years to get to where they are now. Thousands of hours of reading, staring at a computer screen, and writing code. But now that the toughest part is over, it is now time to reap all the benefits!
  
Okay, so now you created or signed up for an automated trading system and you don't want to leave your computer because your worried that the trading system might not work correctly, you have a power outage or some other possible mishap. This is where your smartphone comes into play. All you need to do is download a remote desktop application and voila! Now you can be anywhere and still have access to your computer. Some examples would be: Logmein Ignition or PhonemyPC. It lets you take complete control of your home computer from your smartphone so you can follow trades throughout the day or even in emergency situations, exit trades. I use it everyday this way here I never have to worry and I always know what is happening. If for some reason my phone can't connect to my computer, all I need to do is call up tradestation trade desk or login to tradestation.com and check my positions. It makes life much simpler and a lot less stressful.

Okay, so what is automated trading? It is the use of a computer program to enter and exit trades automatically without any human intervention. Automated trading, what a great concept! Take all the stress, long hours and thinking out of trading by simply letting your home computer do all the trading for you. It can crunch data faster than you, calculate ideal entries and exits faster than you and even send orders to your broker faster than you. So why doesn't everybody do it? Simple. Not everyone can write the code nor can they even create a concept that actually works in real live trading! Most people will optimize the hell out of there systems so when they back-test their systems the results look perfect. That is until they trade live and get absolutely crushed by the markets. Yeah, I've been there, just like many others. This is one of the reasons why this site even exists, to help out the people who are trying to get ahead, but can't find a way. For those of you who are just getting started and don't know where to begin. We recommend Tradestation, they have been ranked number one and that is who we use for our broker and automated trading platform. Shown in the picture above is a screen shot of our Alpha System in action. It shows some historical trades for August of 2011. All of which were done automatically by my computer and which could have been done by yours as well.
